WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR
A Black Man walks into a prestigious private bank in midtown Manhattan and asks for the loan officer who politely tries to direct him to a more...commercial establishment. The Black Man says he's going to Europe on a business trip for two weeks and needs to borrow $5000. The loan officer says the bank will need some kind of security for the loan, so the Black Man hands over the keys to a new Rolls Royce. The car is parked on the street in front of the bank. He has all the papers including the title and everything checks out. The bank agrees to accept the car as collateral for the loan.
An employee of the bank then proceeds to drive the Rolls into the bank's underground garage and parks it there. The news quickly spreads throughout the bank and over lunch, the bank's president and it's officers all enjoy a good laugh at the "ni* % er's" expense for using a $250,000 Rolls as collateral against a $5,000 loan.
Two weeks later, the man returns, repays the $5,000 and the interest, which comes to $20.41. The loan officer says, Sir, we are very happy to have had your business, and this transaction has worked out very nicely, but we are a little puzzled. While you were away, we checked you out and found that you are a multimillionaire. What puzzles us is why would you bother to borrow $5,000?"The man replies. "Where else in New York City can I park my car for two weeks for only $20.41 and expect it to be there when I return?"

VIEW FROM THE TRENCHES
After living in Miami-Dade County for 12 years, I thought that I had been totally insulated against shock and outrage. But the Miami Herald’s superb investigation reporting and the images captured made me so angry that I cried in frustration and powerlessness.
I work with poor people in need of housing. I can connect the dots between lack of housing and poor educational achievemen, juvenile delinquency, broken families. It just angers me to know that we had the resources to meet at least some of the needs of the deserving poor. I am angry at children sleeping in such conditions because I know that they are poor academic performers.
I want to convey my gratitude for your exposing yet another example of government-supported greed and thievery.

We know each other for sometime and you know I love you dearly not only for the work you do, but for being you. I feel your pain like our friend William Jefferson Clinton would say.
Being older, my experience has taught me that corruption, par for the course in Latin America between “U.S. government-supported greed and thievery”, continues, not only in the third world but also in the first world, with the expertise and help of former third world residents.
Like the French say “the more things change, the more they stay the same.”

I was much chagrined when I read Samuel Huntington's description of Haiti in "Clash of Civilization" as the neighbor that nobody wants. In other works several historians and scholars has also referred to Haiti as a pariah. I am not the least bit naive, but would like to appeal to the politicians, minority elite as well as the zinglendos in Haiti to please make it possible for Haitians to be able to etch out an existence in their own country. I am profoundly ashamed of the condition of my home.
I am curious why the mainstream American Media is absolutely mum on the rash of kidnappings and violence in Haiti. Obviously those without vested interest care nothing about Haiti.
It just seems odd that the FBI (the greatest law enforcement agency in the world with the best resources and technology) have to
resort to negotiating with goons in Haiti for the release of hostages. Does anybody out there find it strange that the FBI cannot put the fear of God into the kidnappers?

For now, in 13 days Israel has used over 20,000 Bombs and has flown 3,000 sorties. Her F-16 payloads are weighed in tons not pounds. Israel Has shelled Lebanon non-stop from Air, Sea and Ground. 700,000 people are displaced. 372 dead mostly children. Destroyed Lebanon's Southern Infrastracture which is conservatively estimated at $3.2Billion. Has deliberately bombed U.N Post, Ambulances, schools, Power Stations, Civilian Ports and so on. Has used internationally banned weapons "White Phosporous" which a burn agent. Do some research on Israel's arsenal and their made. Search the Phytom M3.

It is unfortunate that our Haitian American children have been unable to feel the pride that most Americans feel when reading of their ancestors. However, the time has come, history is about to be rewritten. Thanks to those of you who have financially supported our drive to make this dream a reality, we can now ensure that our ancestors are forever included in the pages that tell the story of this nation.
On October 9, 2006, the Haitian American Historical Society will be unveiling the “Chasseurs Volontaires de Saint-Domingue” monument in Savannah, Georgia. This is in honor of our ancestors who so valiantly fought for the freedom of this country, our new home, the United States of America.
Those of you who have been involved in this endeavor over the past two years have a tremendous sense of ownership and pride in this project. Our conviction and tenacity has carried us through difficult times, and now, we are about to enjoy the fruits of our labor. However, we still have the last leg of our race to run. In order for our goal to be met, we are asking you for a pledge of two hundred dollars or more within the next 15 days. For your generous contribution, a traditional red clay memorial brick engraved with your name as a donor will be placed by the monument’s pedestal in Savannah’s Franklin Square where the “Chasseurs Volontaires de Saint-Domingue” monument will be erected.

Au-delà de l’avanie nationale et internationale que constitue l’accusation des personnalités haïtiennes du gouvernement, la fantaisie qu’est devenu le vocable de crime contre l’humanité dans un occident nouvellement passionné de justice et d’équité, et qui le crache sans nuance ni bon sens, engendre une faiblesse des petits états en proie à l’action des bandits armés et du crime organisé qui se frottent les mains sachant que toute réplique par les armes d’un gouvernement en place risque de faire qualifier les membres de ce gouvernement de criminels contre l’humanité.
Le cas d’Haïti, dans l’actuelle conjoncture est probant. Car en fait, le gouvernement canadien accepterait-il que des malfrats armés jusqu’aux dents opèrent en pleine rue dans ses villes - ravissant et assassinant des policiers chaque semaine, enlevant des enfants, des femmes et des hommes qu’ils torturent et tuent, bloquant toute vie sociale et économique dans les métropoles - sans réagir par les armes afin de soumettre les criminels sans cela imprenables et d’amener les survivants devant la justice?
Quand je considère la fièvre que l’assassinat d’un simple policier canadien déclenche dans tous les secteurs solidaires la société quand il survient, je me dis qu’il y a une mauvaise foi qui s’apparente même à un complot contre la société haïtienne par nos soit disant pays amis.
Peut-être qu’à leurs yeux, le meurtre d’un citoyen haïtien relève des prérogatives des voyous meurtriers qui ont tous les droits d’user des armes à feu les plus tueuses, alors que l’État haïtien devient irrespectueux des droits de l’homme voire criminel dès que les responsables de l’État, le gouvernement, utilisent la force publique et sa juste violence, ce pouvoir qui est censé être justement la prérogative exclusive de l’État au nom de la nation, pour protéger la société et le citoyen, garantir l’ordre et le fonctionnement du pays.
Enfin, nous sommes en plein non sens d’un monde devenu chasse gardée des caprices d’une poignée de dirigeants du nord sans respect des peuples du sud, éhontés au point d’afficher au grand jour leur mépris du sud et des principes d’équité lors même où ils évoquent le droit international qui doit être même et unique pour toutes les nations et individus qu’il prétend juger au nom de ses vœux d’une justice planétaire sans quoi il n’est que fumisterie!
En attendant, Jacques-Edward, Rudolf et tous les haïtiens injustement humiliés et traînés dans la boue des dénigrements et méprises d’une jurisprudence canadienne de droit divin, peuvent narquoisement en rire, vu les allures désopilantes de l’actuelle diplomatie discriminatoire et d’oracle de l’injustice planétaire du nouveau gouvernement canadien en ces temps de bombardement de Beyrouth par le riche gouvernement d’Ehud Olmert.
