FROM
THE CITY OF SAVANNAH, GEORGIA BRIAN GORE ASSISTANT TO THE CITY MANAGER,
Carl:
Members of the CARL’S CORNER community who accept Myriam Nader's invitation to visit Savannah with the Haitian American Historical Society will be greeted by two signs erected last month in Franklin Square. The City of Savannah produced the signs at the request of Daniel Fils-Aimé to promote the Haitian Monument. The signs feature a rendering of the monument by sculptor James Mastin and note that the Haitian American Historical Society is leading this important project in cooperation with the City of Savannah. One sign faces the City Market Courtyard and its many shops and restaurants, and the other sign faces historic First African Baptist Church. The brick platform to the left of the sign is on the site where the monument will be erected.
Best wishes and hope to see you soon,
