Police officers working with the DARE program have issued this Warning: If you are driving after dark and see an on-coming car with no headlights on, DO NOT FLASH YOUR LIGHTS AT THEM! This is a common Bloods member "initiation game" that goes like this: The new gang member under initiation drives along with no headlights, and the first car to flash their headlights at him is now his "target.".
He is now required to turn around and chase that car, then shoot and kill every individual in the vehicle in order to complete his initiation requirements. Police Deptartments across the nation are being warned.
Their intent is to have all the new bloods nationwide drive around on Friday and Saturday nights with their headlights off. In order to be accepted into the gang, they have to shoot and kill all individuals in the first auto that does a courtesy flash to warn them that their lights are off.
Make sure you share this information with all the drivers in your family! Please forward this message to all your friends and family members to inform them about this initiation ritual.

Castro charges Bush ordered him killed
before he took office

HAVANA, Cuba (AFP): Cuba's communist leader Fidel Castro accused US President George W. Bush of ordering him killed even before moving into the White House, in an article published in the newspaper Granma Monday.

"The issue of the accusation related to his plan to kill me comes from before he used fraud to steal the victory from another candidate," the convalescing Castro, 80, said of Bush.
Castro, who claims to hold a sort of world record in evading assassination plots, at some 650 in his count, recalled in an opinion piece in the Cuban Communist Party newspaper that he reported the alleged plot publicly on August 5, 2000 in a speech in Pinar del Rio.
Of all the US presidents since 1959, Castro said Jimmy Carter (1977-1981) ordered no hit, and that he had no knowledge of former president Bill Clinton (1993-2001) ever having given a green light for a Castro assassination bid.
Castro's recollections come a week after he insisted in an essay entitles "They will never have Cuba," that Cuba would keep making and importing weaponry to stave off a US invasion. Fidel Castro, who took power in Cuba in January 1959, is still on the mend from major intestinal surgery last year.
Castro turns 81 on August 13 and has not appeared in public since his July 26 operation for intestinal trouble. Castro's brother Raul Castro, 76, took the helm of the country last July 31. Cuba does not reveal much detail about Fidel Castro's health, citing national security concerns.
Fidel Castro revealed Monday however that he had been "between life and death" when he handed power to his brother Raul. "For many years I was able to survive, by chance, the empire's killing machine," he wrote in another editorial in Granma, referring to the US government.
"Soon it will be a year since I fell sick and, when I was between life and death, expressed in the Proclamation of July 31, 2006: 'I do not have the slightest doubt that our people and our revolution will fight until the last drop of blood," Castro wrote.
His close ally Bolivian President Evo Morales said in an interview published in Chile this week that Fidel Castro underwent at least 10 surgeries since taking ill. Castro has appeared in official video and still images, first in a bathrobe and then in a track suit, appearing lately to have regained some of the weight he lost after intestinal surgery.
Since March 29, Fidel Castro has written more than 20 policy articles in Granma and other official government publications, including articles on global warming, ethanol, and US imperialism.
Wednesday, Cuba -- targeted by US efforts to isolate it economically and diplomatically -- said a European Union call for dialogue was a step in the right direction. But it also demanded the EU give up once and for all the idea of reimposing sanctions against the Americas' only one-party communist country.
Cuban dissidents start push to change constitution

HAVANA, Cuba (Reuters): A prominent Cuban dissident group launched a campaign on Monday to push for constitutional reforms that would allow for democratic elections and greater respect for human rights in the communist country.
The campaign is the latest in a series of calls for political and economic changes by opposition groups on the island since Cuban leader Fidel Castro fell ill almost 11 months ago and temporarily handed over power to his younger brother, Raul.
The most recent push is led Oswaldo Paya, a dissident with close ties to the Catholic Church who five years ago gained international notoriety by gathering 25,000 signatures calling for a referendum on civil liberties that became known as the Varela Project.
The new project, dubbed the Cuban Campaign Forum, urges Cubans of all political stripes to join forces to demand free elections for a Constituent Assembly that would amend the constitution.
"It is time for Cubans to open the doors of the future, using legal and peaceful means," Paya said in a joint statement with Minervo Chil Siret, a member of the Christian Liberation Movement that Paya leads.
Few Cubans are likely aware of the effort because opposition groups do not have access to the state-run media, but organizers plan to spread the news by word of mouth.
The campaign also calls on Cuba's opposition groups, which are fragmented and frequently infiltrated by government agents, to refrain from dialogue with the Cuban regime until it releases all political prisoners.
Independent rights groups in Cuba estimate that about 280 dissidents are in prison for political reasons. Many governments and international rights groups also criticize Cuba for limiting free speech, Internet access and travel.
DIALOGUE?
The Cuban government dismisses those claims as unfounded and says there are no political prisoners on the island, only "counterrevolutionary mercenaries" on the payroll of its archenemy, the United States.
Opposition groups like Paya's are outlawed but often tolerated in Cuba, a one-party state ruled by Castro since a revolution in 1959. Last week, a coalition of moderate dissidents known as the Alliance for Dialogue and Reconciliation called on fellow opposition groups to unite and seek a constructive dialogue with the Cuban government.
But the government, which insists there will be no change to the political system, has shown no signs of willingness to negotiate with the dissidents. "We want a dialogue that doesn't break with existing institutions," Paya told Reuters. "But if the government doesn't want to talk, there isn't going to be any dialogue."
There have been calls before for unity among Cuban dissidents. But those efforts failed, derailed by personal rivalries and differing political visions.

Dites-moi , dites-nous , vous toutes et tous de toutes les sensibilités politiques haitiennes : Pensez-vous qu'Haiti va bien mieux quand nos Dirigeants ne font plus de beaux discours bien conçus, bien préparés, bien écrits, bien sélectionnés, bien collectionnés, bien référenciés et bien lus ? Est-ce que nous agissons beaucoup plus que nous ne parlons ou ne discourons depuis quelque temps en Haiti ?
Georges W Bush, Angela Merkel, Nicolas Sarkozy : se gardent-ils de trop parler , de trop discourir pour davantage agir chez eux et dans le monde ? Ne donnent-ils pas régulièrement des conférences de presse ?
Jean Narcisse et Claude Vixamar sont parmi les grands rédacteurs de très beaux discours officiels présidentiels qu'il m'a été donné d'entendre en Haiti .. Je peux penser qu'il y en eut bien d'autres avant eux dans ce métier sous nos différents précédents gouvernements . Certains Chefs d'État de chez nous savaient écrire eux-mêmes leurs discours, m'a-t-on raconté ? Les connaissez-vous ?
On devait connaitre bien son Latin , son Grec et beaucoup de citations , n'est-ce-pas , pour que l'on fût habile dans ce métier ? Mais on devait connaitre aussi l'Histoire Générale et suivre l'actualité dans le monde ..
Des fois , 4 ou 5 textes de discours étaient préparés par des écrivains différents , et le Chef devait quand même faire un tri et un choix ..
Préférez-vous les discours improvisés officiels de nos Dirigeants en Haiti et jusqu'aux Nations-Unies en Assemblée Générale ?

En effet, c'est une tradition qui continue aujourd'hui, car c'est chez nous que les jeunes se réunissent lorsque l'été s'annonce.. Nous avions parfois une quinzaine de jeunes ici à la maison, autant de filles que de garcons..Ils sont tous ici chez nous avec des entrées et sorties comme des abeilles cherchant le nectar des fleurs.
Mon frère Doudou aurait été content de voir tout cela...

C'est donc le 21 juin que l'été est officiellement intronisé. Nous avons tous appris à l'école le vers de Leconte de Lisle :
Midi, roi des étés, étendu sur la plaine.
Qu'est-ce que c'est que ce roi étendu sur la plaine ? L'image me semble forcée. Pour un poète amoureux de la forme, comme l'était ce Parnassien rigoureux, cette trouvaille n'est pas terrible. Et pourtant, toutes les anthologies traditonnelles la présentent comme un chef-d'oeuvre... Tant que nous y sommes, il y a un authentique chef-d'oeuvre d'un autre poète que l'on cite souvent sans prendre garde qu'il renferme l'un des vers les plus rocailleux que je connaisse. J'aurais sans doute mis du temps à m'en apercevoir si Émile Roumer ne me l'avait montré un jour. Avec sa gouaille habituelle, entre deux bouffées de pipe, il me déclara dans un éclat de rire que « Lamartine aurait mieux fait de se noyer dans son Lac ». Et pourquoi ? lui demandai-je. L'auteur des Méditations et des Harmonies était coupable d'avoir commis ce vers :
Ô lac ! l'année à peine a fini sa carrière,
[...]
Voyez-vous, chers amis, cette cascade de "a" qui oblige à un difficile jeu de mâchoires. Victor Hugo n'eût jamais écrit un tel vers, ni Verlaine, ni Valéry... N'en déplaise au cher Émile, tout le reste du poème est d'une saisissante
beauté, et, s'il s'était noyé, Lamartine nous aurait privés d'un des plus grands poètes qui soient...
Aujourd'hui, le « roi des étés » aurait bien du mal à rester « étendu sur la
plaine » ; il aurait vite attrapé un enchifrènement, vu le temps brouillé qu'il fait --un temps qui porte à la nostalgie. Je me souviens tout à coup que le 21 juin était la dernière journée à Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague pour les candidats au bac. Et je nous revois tous de cette promotion-là en classe de Philo, juste au-dessus du laboratoire, écoutant religieusement le frère Philippe nous exhorter
une dernière fois :
Messieurs, sachez que vous ne vous atteindrez qu'en vous dépassant !
Et puis, nous étions partis faire la nouba chez notre ami Doudou Perpignand qui, n'étant plus à Saint-Louis, avait gracieusement mis à notre disposition la belle demeure de la ruelle Nazon. Mon Dieu ! comme tout cela semble proche et lointain à la fois ! Nous avions dix-huit ans et ne rêvions que de conquérir le monde et de le dominer. La vie allait nous séparer, nous nous sommes égaillés, et maintenant plus d'un manque à l'appel... Doudou lui-même...
Je parlais d'Émile Roumer. Je viens de relire dans ses admirables Poèmes d'Haïti et de France, le sonnet -- un joyau -- intitulé :

O vingt et un juin ! gala, jour de sortie,
faux-cols, étranglements, trouble, rire moqueur
fusant d'un groupe rose à notre adresse, coeur

j'écoute les propos d'une oreille avertie...
Un cortège pompeux sort de la sacristie,

Décidément, ce premier jour de l'été 2007 remue en moi bien des souvenirs : Émile Roumer, Saint-Louis-de-Gonzague, tout y est, enfance et adolescence... Et voici que s'ajoute la voix de Moustaki chantant :
